About Me

I am dedicated to destigmatising mental health, improving access to services, and creating a supportive campus culture where every student feels valued and supported.

My Objectives

  • Develop an International Peer Support Programme

    In Progress

As a part of the Student Equality Network's development, we also plan to integrate peer support elements into its structure. I intend on working with the elected chair of the International Working Group to ensure the support is tailored to international students' needs. I am in conversations with the CSO around an online platform to pair students to their peers. I will collaborate with the International Engagement Office on this.

  • Expand Talk Together's Hours

    In Progress

Expand Talk Together's hours to better accommodate diverse student schedules, including commuters, parents, or those balancing work or other responsibilities.

  • Implement EDI training for student-facing staff

    In Progress

I am working with the Student Success Team and Director of Student Life in ensuring staff have the appropriate EDI training.

  • Launch a Gender Empowerment Campaign

    In Progress

This is a year-long campaign focusing on gender-based safety and the LGBTQIA+ community. It will involve formalizing our Gender Recognition Certificates, working with G(end)er Swap to explore initiatives like a Binder Library Scheme or skill-building workshops. We are also in the works of bringing back self-defense workshops and improving our Report & Support process.

  • Lobby for BSL to be offered

    In Progress

My hope is for BSL to be introduced as an interdisciplinary module or through the Union's skill building scheme. Our AI team is currently working on BSL transcribing for Panopto. Discussions have been had with EB on making this possible.

  • Increase and en=nhance sensory spaces on campus, including a Sensory Room at Manor Park

    In Progress

The Sensory Room on Stag Hill has now piloted and CCTV is in place to prevent theft of items. The CWB has enhanced its sensory support in the building. Discussions are being had with estates and campus services about finding a suitable location at MP for the Sensory Room. The Vet Society have opened a wellbeing space.

  • Introduce WBC's to the Student Equality Network

    In Progress

Discussions are being had with the Voice Zone to introduce Wellbeing Champion's into the Student Equality Network.

  • Offer MHFA training to students

    In Progress

I am working with the CWB and CSO to offer Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to students. I have already got this offered to my Support Zone Part-Time Officers and will be branching out after summer.
